Our first destination wedding for the year set in the beautiful wine town of Calistoga (Napa Valley) in Northern California. Our bride, Aileen is a professional LA wedding and portrait photographer. We’ve known her and worked with her over the years and she’s absolutely one of our favorites. Her work’s just as beautiful as her and her personality. So seeing her again at a wedding was really exciting. Even more, ’cause this time, she’s the one in front of the our cameras and walking down the aisle. Aileen was a real hot bride.. as hot as her groom, Doug, and the weather at Hans Fahden Vineyard. But it wasn’t the heat but the vows of Doug and Aileen that melted our hearts at this very intimate extraordinary setting.

Congratulations Aileen and Doug! It’s a great honor for us to be there to capture and preserve your day.

Nate and Travis Wheeland (a.k.a. Wheeland Brothers) came to us in late April with a story board and their song “Sand In My Sheets” that caught our interest. After a few e-mail exchanges, we had the ball rollin’ and were off to a day’s shoot at a couple of prime surf locations in south OC. First was an extremely secluded surf spot in San Clemente, known only to them and their surf buddies. The beach wasn’t easily accessible either as we had to go more than a hundred feet down a trail off a cliff with 200lbs. of filming equipments. Well worth the early morning treck as the place was perfect for our project, the hardest part was climbing back up mid-afternoon with the scorching heat on our heads, and again, with 200lbs. worth of gear. But, it was all well worth every sweat. Second location was at the San Onofre State Beach with our bonfire and party crowd. A much easier, much lighter shoot with the sun setting down on us. All together, it was a great experience working with these guys, true surfing music artists!

This week we received the most sweetest news that the music video is nominated at the 2013 OC Music Awards for BEST MUSIC VIDEO!! Going head to head with HEAVYWEIGHTS and much bigger music video productions from NO DOUBT (w/ Gwen Stefani) and The Dirty Heads and beating out other big name bands in Orange County for the nomination. Totally awesome!!!

Thank you to Janet Wheeland (Travis’ wife and hot chick in the video) for starting the fire, this would not have all been possible without her. Thanks to their bass player Marcus Agundes and drummer Brandon Lark. Their love of nature and the outdoors led them to this enchanting ceremony setting in a forest hiking trail in Anaheim Hills. Hiking buddies and God-loving Christians, Kristine (or K10) and Juan are two of most creative, fun-loving couples we’ve had the privilege of filming. From the the time we did their Save The Date video, we knew they’d be a fun couple to shoot. And they didn’t disappoint, it was a high-spirited day from the wacky groom’s ceremony walk to the Gang Nam Style reception entrance.

A dream wedding in beautiful Maui, Hawaii at none other than the island’s best and most highly acclaimed hotel, The Grand Wailea. Not only a dream wedding for our couple but also a a dream destination assignment for us. LA locals Gles and Jeff had a true Hawaiian ceremony at the Kukahiko Estate in Makena with a real Kahuna Pule (Hawaiian Minister) singing his mele (chant) and blowing his Hawaiian horn conch shell. An outdoor Luau reception followed at the Grand Wailea complete with hula and fire dancers. And to top it off, all of these were happening with picture perfect views of Maui’s beaches as backdrops. One word describes it all… EPIC.
